Hello Blogosphere and the real world too. I am still in the process of moving back to Louisville. I’m simply waiting for the rest of my stuff to arrive. Our good friend John was going to bring his red Ford truck with all my junk when he got his yearly spout of bronchitis coupled with a serious sinus infection. Ouch. Thankfully he is getting better or at least well enough to drive. My dad flew back home today and will drive up here with John tomorrow morning early. They should be here around 8:30PM. I am really thankful fro all my parents and Tammy and John are doing to help me get back on my feet after the sickness and all. I am looking forward to meeting my neighbors and making friends and loving the community around me. It is exciting to say that I live in the city now. Very different from Holiday, FL in the suburbs. So that’s it for now. I will be taking some classes (4) online from Boyce College as I work full time and learn to pour myself out for those around me.

I was sitting on my couch and I remembered about this guy, having seen him do a solo in a friend’s dorm awhile back.

Matt Chandler talks about “secular” music:

It was a video put out by a ’families for Christian virtues’ organization that was an hour and thirty minute video on (secular) music and I always want to put that in parentheses because music can’t accept Christ, only people can. There is not Christian music. There’s Christians that – no - I don’t have time. . . . So then for me, Christianity this thing was that we don’t watch a certain kind of movie and that we don’t listen to a kind of music.

Music can’t get saved? Hmmm. I’m gonna have to rethink this. ‘Cause I have been praying for years that all those other evil genres would repent and clean up their lyrics and make their music conform to the Christian flavor.

I know it’s from earlier this year, but I’m a little late on finding it. I found the stuff by Dick Kaufmann on preaching to be very helpful. Here is my typed transcript of the talk Gospel-Centered Preaching (download doc). I wish I could get my hands on the handout on preaching from the San Diego Boot Camp (April ‘07). I also love the threefold concept of the church as gospel centering, missional living, and grace renewing. Here is a small handout for the talk on being a Gospel-Driven Church from August ‘06 (download pdf). Old news I know, guys, but maybe some of you could use the typed transcript. And let me know if you know how to get that handout from Acts 29 (as well as the DMin program floating around Acts 29 by Keller/Clowney). Perhaps some fellow Sojourn goers???
